Animals are and always have been a huge part of my life.  While growing up I had a variety of different pets including hedgehogs, guinea pigs, chickens, pheasants, turkeys, lovebirds, dogs, and cats.  Working with animals one way or another was always my goal so I started off by getting a job as a kennel assistant at a vet clinic, worked my way up to a tech assistant, then got my degree as a veterinarian technician in 2004.

I have worked as a licensed veterinarian technician for 11.5 years so far and have learned many things which help me better care for animals.  My years working at vet clinics have been a great way to meet many people wanting pet care in their own homes, thus giving me the opportunity to do large amounts of pet sitting over the past 8+ years.

My own crowd includes 4 dogs (Taite-Pyreneese cross, Marshall- Lab cross, and Brock and Elliot- Chihuahuas), 2 cats(Jasper and Pickles), 2 hedgehogs (Wilbur and Prunaprismia), a rat (Ratty), and 11 chickens (unnamed).  Taite, Marshall, and I love hiking on Moscow Mountain and go as often as possible.  Taite and I are a registered Pet Partner team and have had the opportunity to visit places such as an adult day care, Family Promise events, and reading programs at local middle schools together, as well as visit Pullman Regional Hospital a couple of times monthly as a part of their Prescription Pets program.  When not doing things with animals, I enjoy reading,  playing the piano, repainting my walls on a whim (I do not recommend painting one’s bathroom pink. It lasted a day.),  and attempting to garden.

Here are some pictures of the after school program Taite and I get to be a part of this fall.
